R.B. Bob "Coach" Frederick, 76, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with John H. Elser, chaplain of Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

R.B. Bob "Coach" Frederick was born July 21, 1932, in Austin to Joseph and Hattie Loehr Frederick. He graduated from Austin High School, San Angelo State and Hardin-Simmons University. Coach Frederick moved to Amarillo in 1963 from Llano. He taught science and was head coach at Horace Mann Junior High until 1968. He was a member of Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas State Teachers Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah J. Anderson of Garland and Cheryl Rodriguez of Valley Center, Calif.; five sisters, Betty Briscoe of Hurst, Mamie Edmonds of Orlando, Fla., Cora Nell Womack of Waco, Linda Terry of Austin and Patricia Baxes of American Canyon, Calif.; three brothers, George Frederick of Luthersville, Ga., Johnny Frederick of Killeen and Gerald Frederick of Pflugerville; six grandchildren, Amanda Anderson West of Garland, Amy Anderson of Dallas, Christopher Rodriguez, Erica Rodriquez Nieves and Natalie Rodriguez, all of Valley Center, Calif., and Daphne Rodriguez of Maui, Hawaii; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
