Isaac was the third child of John Allen and Charity Suttles/Allen. He was a confederate soldier in the 13th Mississippi Inf., Company D, Newton Rifles. Records show Isaac was wounded at General Magruders reconnaissance in force at Garnett's Farm, Richmond VA, where his younger brother John C. Allen was killed. Isaac was also wounded July 2, 1863, the second day at Gettysburg as the 13th Mississippi, under General Barksdale, charged Union positions some where around the Peach Orchard.
