David was the oldest of 9 known children of Thomas Gwynn and Rachel (unknown family name) Gwynn. David and his wife, Louisa (Bisbort) Gwynn, are thought to have been born in Philadelphia, and they were married and raised their family there. David was a shoemaker by trade, and a boxer as a young man. According to my father, David died at the Philadelphia Home for the Indigenent in Northeast Philadelphia at the age of about 88. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery near the Roosevelt Boulevard. The Cemtery is run by the Knights of Pythias, but membership is not required to be buried there. Louisa moved several times after David's death, and she died in Somers Point, New Jersey at the age of 91.
