Larry Joe "Bub" Clements
Larry Joe "Bub" Clements, 45, Deerfield, MO passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 unexpectedly at his home. He was born April 10, 1963 in Ft. Scott, KS to Larry Joe Clements, Sr. and Diane Elaine Lang Clements. He was married December 17, 2001 in Miami, OK to Kenna S. Klumpp and she survives of the home.
Larry was born and raised in Ft. Scott, Ks and graduated from Ft. Scott High School in 1981. He worked for Topco Cabinet Co, Ft. Scott, KS. He had also worked for ten years for the Coca Cola Distributor of Ft. Scott. For the past nine years he has worked for Emery Truck Stop in Deerfield, MO. Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #495 in Richards, MO and the BPO Elks Lodge in Ft. Scott, KS. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed raising cattle.
In addition to his wife Kenna, survivors include four children, Brooke Clements, Ft. Scott. KS, Jacob Clements, Ft. Scott, KS, Aubrey Elkinton and her husband Dusty, and David Klumpp and his wife Joni, all of Deerfield, MO; three grandchildren, which he was "Papa" to, Halley Elkinton, Talya Elkinton and Caden Klumpp; his father, "Joe" Clements and step-mother, Darlene, Ft. Scott, KS; two sisters, Donna Joe "D.J." Beerbower and her husband David, Ft. Scott, KS and Debbie Mitchell, Ft. Scott, KS; five nieces, Sarah Jo Pollock, Jennifer Hull, Katie Jo Hull, ShayLynn Clements and Amanda Clements; one nephew, Jerry Clements, and one great-niece, JoDee Lynn Pollock; father and mother-in-law, Leon and Betty Lou Emery, Deerfield, MO; and one bother-in-law, Mike Emery, Richards, MO; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, along with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Clements in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2008, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment, along with Masonic services, will follow at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, MO.
Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests that memorials may be made in his honor to a memorial fund for his grandchildren in care of the funeral home.
