Mr. Abel Robinson Lineberger, 94, died November 25, 2000. He was born in Gaston County the son of Henry Lee Lineberger and Rosa Robinson. He was retired from Gaston Country Club. He attended Lutheran Chapel Church. He was a farmer, former employee of Carnation Milk Co., Shell Oil Co., Cleveland Country Club, and Homlite Corporation; attended the Old Tanyard School and Gastonia High School where he drove a bus.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Katherine Rutledge Lineberger; daughters, Glene Lineberger of Gastonia, Helen L. and husband, Marshall Howard of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Willard Bess of Bessemer City, NC; grandchildren, Derek C. and wife Raine Smith of Matthew, NC; Drew R. and wife Jennifer Smith of Chesapeake, VA, Justin W. and wife Christie Smith of Charleston, SC; great granddaughters, Kelsey Elizabeth, Christopher Ashley, and Lillie Katherine Smith all of Chesapeake, VA.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Loy, Brady, Alice and Edna Lineberger and Ethel Bess.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at Lutheran Chapel Church. Dr. Michael Frye will officiate. Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at Ward Funeral Home.
