PIERZ -- Lorene Catherine (Tembreull) Ross, age 88, a resident of Pierz, Minn., passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, at St. Gabriel's Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, at St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup, Minn., with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, Minn., with Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30 p.m., parish prayers at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, Minn.

Lorene was born on Sept. 3, 1915, on the family farm west of Pierz to the late Christ and Theresia (Loidolt) Tembreull. She was the seventh of 11 children. After attending District 78 School, Lorene worked as a housekeeper until she got married. Lorene married John H. Ross on June 11, 1940, in Pierz, Minn. The couple made their home on the Ross family farm north of Pierz. She spent the next 54 years of her life farming with her husband John. Together they raised three children. Lorene joined the Lastrup Christian Mothers in 1941 and became a lifelong member. She enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks and cooking magazines, visiting with family and friends and attending church. In 1994, she moved to Pierz where she resided until her sudden illness and death.

She is survived by her children Joan Krueger and husband Dewey of Merrifield, Minn., Mary Kirzeder of Baxter, Minn., and LeRoy Ross and wife Peg of Pierz, Minn.; brothers Roman Tembreull of St. Cloud, Minn., and Clarence Tembreull of Owatonna, Minn.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Casket bearers will be Michelle and Willy Reponen, Michael Krueger, Brian Krueger and Chris and Mindy Kirzeder.
