Niels Jorgensen, son of Rasmus and Gertru Jorgensen was born at Assens, Denmark, Aug 6,1880, and passed away at the McVay hospital at Lake City, Iowa, Aug 9, 1946, being 66 years of age. He came to America when he was 21 years old, coming to Lake City, Iowa. Here he lived until 1908, when he returned to his native home in Denmark, for a visit. On Jan. 1909, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Schuett of Lake City. To this union were born four children. They are Raymond Jorgensen, near Lanesboro. Mrs Kenneth Sherer (Genevieve), Lanesboro, Mrs H.G. Barber (Silvia) of Sells, Ariz. and Karl at home. There are also four grandchildren. Besides his sorrowing wife and the four children, he leaves to mourn his passing, two sister and one brother living in Denmark. His father and mother and three sisters preceeded him in the great beyond. Mr and Mrs Jorgensen lived in Des Moines, two years, in Lohrville five years, Lidderdale 1 year and all the other years lived near Lanesboro, When a young man he united with the Christian church. Mr. Jorgensen took ill about Febr. 1, 1946 He bore his sickness with great courage and will power. He was held in the very hightest esteem by all who knew him.
