Michael J. Dayley, 49, of Avalon Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown, and formerly of 11474 Welsh Run Road, Mercersburg, Pa., died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at the nursing home.
Born April 3, 1956, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Sarah E. Keefer Dayley of Mercersburg, Pa., and the late James E. Dayley.
He was a 1975 graduate of James Buchanan High School.
He worked at North Hagerstown High School as a janitor for more than 10 years.
He was a member of Welsh Run Church of the Brethren.
He was a past member of Hagerstown Community College Booster Club.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Beverly S. Lehman of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, David A. Dayley and Roy S. Dayley, both of Greencastle; two nieces; and three nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle. Elder Bill Spangler, Henry Huntsberger and James Kent will officiate. Burial will follow in Welsh Run (Pa.) Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
