Funeral Held For Runnels Stockfarmer

BALLINGER, Sept. 22, -- funeral services for J. L King. 74, Runnels County farmer-rancher for the last 20 years, were held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Runnels Cemetery tabernacle with the Rev. M. C. Golden, a local Baptist minister, Officiating. Burial followed in the same cemetery, the Agnew-Wright Funeral Home being in charge. Mr. King succumbed to an illness of three weeks' duration at the home six miles northeast of here. yesterday afternoon at 3 20 o'clock. He was born in Florida. Survivors include the widow: three sons, August King of Colorado City, Carl King of Ballinger, and Mansei King of Cross Plains: a daughter Mrs. Jessie Wade of Miles; two brothers Dan King of Newton, and Ed King of Randolph. Nineteen grandchildren and six great-grand-children also survive.
Grandsons served as pallbearers and granddaughters as flower girls.
