After Wealthy died in 1854, William married Elizabeth "Betsey" Burgess McKee; they had two daughters, Ellen Elizabeth and Ermina May. When William and Betsey died within 12 days of each other, Satira, then 24, reared her half-sisters, five-year-old Ellen and two-year-old Ermina.
Satira married Wilber H. Moon on Nov. 8, 1865. According to Lura F. Alexander in her Fallass Geneology, "This splendid couple lived near Fallassburg, on a beautiful farm, with large peach orchards, which was a hospitable resort for all the relatives. Theirs was a refined and happy household, and to the end they maintained a keen interest in politics, religion, and the younger generations. All the children received college educations."
The children were Myrtle Alice (b. 1865), Frank Albert (b. 1867), Cora Alphleda (b. 1869; graduated from Medical School, Northwestern University, Chicago, in 1900; University of Berlin and University of Vienna in 1907-8; and Harvard Graduate School of Medicine in 1913; she remained unmarried), and Lucia Ellura (b. 1871).
