He had been in declining health and death was attributed to complications of Alzheimer disease.

He was born August 25, 1928 at Mill Run, Tucker County, a son of the late Ira Lakin Bonner and Lena Carr Bonner.

On July 17, 1955 at Oakland, Md., he was married to Betty Lee Snyder, who survives. They celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.

Also surviving are one daughter; Cathy Ann Lee and husband Todd of Hambleton, two brothers; Coy Bonner and wife Pat of Dry Fork and Don Bonner and wife Louise of Parsons, two granddaughters; Sheree Nicole Bowley and Tayler O'Bryen Lee, both of Hambleton.

He was preceded in death by one infant son; Danny Cleon Bonner, five brothers; Forrest, Gerald, Stanley, Roscoe and Charles Bonner and one sister; Naomi Bonner Sinclair.

He attended the school at Mill Run and Parsons High School.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed antiques and bottle collecting. He will always be remembered for his gentleness and quiet mannerism.
