J. Bush Horner, 74, Cumberland Twp. farmer, died Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock at his Gettysburg R 1 home from a complication of diseases. He died in the house in which he was born and had lived all his live. Death followed an illness of several days.
Mr. Horner was a son of the late David W. and Medora (Bush) Horner. He had attended county schools and had taken an agriculture course at Pennsylvania State college. He was a farmer all his life.
The deceased was a member of the Mt. Joy Lutheran Church and the Barlow Fire Company. A number of years ago he had served on the township school board.
His wife, the former Ruth Elizabeth Herr, died in 1943.
Surviving are these children: Mrs. O. W. Real, Berlin, German,; Mrs. Robert Snyder, Philadelphia; the Rev. Theodore Horner, Bedford; John B. Horner Jr., Middletown, NY; a foster son, Norman Grey, York; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mervin Benner, Gettysburg and Mrs. Beulah Bingham, Waynesboro.
Funeral serves at the Bender Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with his pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Held, officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
