He was stricken by a stroke at age 62 when returning from a Farmer's Day celebration in Gettysburg on Saturday October 17. He died Wednesday October 21st about 7:45 p.m. at his home. He was the son of the late David Horner of Cumberland Township and was born there. He was married to Miss Dora Bush, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bush of Lovettsville, VA, who survives along with one son J Bush Horner of Parker, SD and two daughters, Mrs. James Bigham of Freedom Township and Mrs. Mervin Benner of Mt. Joy Township. Also two sisters, Mrs. Annie Robertson of Warfieldburg, MD and Mrs. John McCabe of Hagerstown survive.
