Son of Johann Andreas & Louise Pflug Ackermann, brother of Baby Girl (died at age 1 day), Johann Charles Friedrick, Johann Henry, Johann Albert, Johann Andrew, Johann Robert & half brother to Nathalie Louise. Husband of Elsie Christine "Christine" Prinz, married on 2/6 or 8/1879. Together they had nine children: Louisa Henriette, Edward Andreas, John Henry, Anna "Annie", Oscar George Elias, Herman Fried. Albert, Gustav Louis Philip, Olga Pauline Emilie, & Hilmer Robert.

LOUIS ACKERMAN FINAL RITES SET
Funeral services for Louis John Ackerman, 78, who died at a local hospital Wednesday will be held at the residence on W. W. White Road at 8 p. m. Thursday with Rev. A. L. Wolff of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery. Mr. Ackerman was a native of Bexar County, a pioneer farmer and came to San Antonio five days ago for medical attention. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christine Ackerman; six sons, Edward, John, Oscar, Herman, Gus & Hilmar Ackerman; three daughters, Mrs. F J Gembler, Mrs. Arthur Barlemann, Miss Louise Ackerman; three brother, Henry, Albert & Robert Ackerman; and one sister, Mrs. William Bartholomae; also 14 grandchildren. Active pallbearers: Wm Icke, Otto Marchwardt, Otto Willenbrock, H. G. Harlos, Alf. Bercher, Rud. Nagel. Honorary pallbearers: Theo. Maggott, Geo. Icke, Ferd. Theis Sr, L. C. Schmidt, Hy. Semlinger, Wm. Marchwardt, A. C. Gembler, Herman Donop, F. Real, Jno. Barkmeyer, Joe Ginz, L. S. Toft.
