Peoria, IL - Muriel S. Alford, 90, of Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria passed away at 2:37 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Proctor Hospital.
She was born May 31, 1918, in Peoria to Joseph N. and Ruth V. Hill Simms. She married Eugene R. Alford on May 29, 1943, in Peoria. He passed away on Aug. 15, 2004, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Alford, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one son, Richard (Candy) Alford of Brimfield; five grandchildren, Rick Alford, Debbie Reising, Michael Alford, Randy Alford and David Alford; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Muriel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Parkview United Church of Christ.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private scattering of ashes will be held on the family farm at a later date.
