JOHN F. COWGER DIES THURSDAY
John Francis Cowger, resident of Battle Ground, died at 6:35 o'clock last evening at the William Ross sanatorium.
He was a son of Francis L. and Martha (McLean) Cowger, born Jan. 29, 1898 at Battle Ground. For 15 years he was employed at the Monon shops in this city but had been incapacitated for the past two years. The deceased was a member of the M. E. church, and K. of P. and Masonic lodges, all of Battle Ground.
Surviving are two daughters, Ramona and Juanita, a sister, Mrs. Jack Stackhouse, all of Battle Ground, and a half-sister, Mrs. Hazel Polkinghorn, of Riverside, Cal.
The body was removed to the Rogers and Smith funeral home.

Cowger Funeral
The funeral of John F. Cowger, World war veteran, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Battle Ground Methodist church, with Rev. J. E. Hartz officiating. The Masonic lodge will conduct a ritualistic service. The American Legion will furnish a firing squad at the grave in the Battle Ground cemetery. Friends may call at the Rogers and Smith funeral home Friday evening to view the body. Saturday morning the body will be taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Jack Stackhouse in Battle Ground.
