Virdie Mae James
CORINTH - Virdie Mae James, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Alcorn County to Floyd and Louise Dixon Hunt. She was a member of Strickland Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Burcham officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Austin (Darryl) and Emma Jo Hudson (Sanford), both of Corinth; two stepsons, David James (Betty) of Tiplersville and Marvin James (Lea Mae) of Corinth; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Glidwell, Zula Mask and Bid Dildy (H.B.), all of Corinth; two brothers, Marvin Hunt of Corinth and Cletus James of Texas; one daughter-in-law, Mella Faye Milan (Benny) of Corinth; five grandchildren, 30 stepgrandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 81 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.L. James; one daughter, Annebell Mohundro; two stepsons, Cotton James and Arland James; two stepdaughters, Ruth Beasley and Lettie V. Switcher; and one sister, Ruth Wilbanks.
Pallbearers will be Travis James, Billy James, Patrick Hudson, Jason Hudson and Gerald Austin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
