Jemima was the third wife of Jacob Strayer (1802-1868). She was the mother of four children with Jacob Strayer - Jacob Patterson Strayer, Christiana Catherine (Strayer) Canfield, Abraham Daniel Strayer and Gearhart Thompson Strayer. Jemima's first husband was James Barber Haskins (1815-1846). She had at least five children with James Haskins including: Mary Ann (Haskins) Abbott, Daniel Webster Haskins, George Washington Haskins, James Homer Haskins and Col. Charles Henry Haskins. Jemima was the daughter of Abraham Daniels and Christiana (Thurston) Daniels Mercer.
