William F. Rinehart of Broad Top City died at the Penn Wood Guest Home at Everett, R.D. 1, this morning, Friday, August 12, 1960, at 4:45 a.m. He had been a guest at the home for 10 months. He had been seriously ill since Monday.

He was born April 23, 1875, in Shore Valley, Huntingdon County, a son of Jacob and Irene (Shore) Rinehart.

He was married to Ellie Chilcote on April 22, 1897. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1949.

Surviving are three sons, Clyde Rinehart of Petersburg, and Harry Rinehart and Mearl Rinehart, both of Broad Top City. There are 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one foster sister, Mrs. Emma Bergstresser of Waterfall.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local 1031 and the Broad Top Lodge of the IOOF. Mr. Rinehart had been postmaster in Broad Top City for 30 years, retiring in 1946. He had been employed by the Rockhill Coal and Iron Company for 30 years and retired in 1945.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, at 2 p.m. from the Broad Top Methodist Church. The Rev. Ralph Jones and the Rev. W. A. Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be made in the Broad Top IOOF Cemetery. Friends will be received at the McClain funeral home in Cassville after 7 p.m. on Saturday, and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the church."
