Funeral services were February 8 for Vera M. Moreland. Mrs. Moreland was born in Comanche county on April 25, 1891, and passed away at the DeLeon hospital on February 7, at the age of 72. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and had lived in DeLeon all of her life. Mrs. Moreland is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louie Bartlett of LaMarque; two sons, Lloyd Malone of DeLeon and Lee R. Malone of Oregon; one half-sister, Mrs. Bertie Roch of DeLeon; 8 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services were held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Nabors Funeral Chapel with Rev. Creath Davis officiating. Music was rendered by a group composed of Homer Hafford, F.S. McCullough, Pearl Spruill, and Lowell Pittman with Mrs. Evia McCullough at the organ. Pallbearers were J.W. Hasley, Stanley Ware, O.B. Reed, Cecil Hunsinger, Chester Pell and D.D. Lowery. Interment was in the DeLeon cemetery with Nabors Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
