Gladys Parks Thomas Hackler, 93, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at her residence. She was the widow of Paris Leondath Thomas and Fred Brown Hackler.

Born in Comers Rock, she was a daughter of the late William Robert Parks and Amanda Victoria Testerman Parks.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois T. Goad; two brothers, Bernard Parks and Chester Parks; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith; and one grandson, Ricky Thomas.

Gladys was a member of Tree of Life Ministries and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three daughters, Juanita T. Wilkinson and her husband, Linwood, of Lynchburg, Muriel T. Smith and her husband, Clifton, of Powhatan, and Linda T. Alford of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Tracy Thomas and Arlen Ray Thomas, both of Eden, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by Pastor Mike Dodson and Pastor Linwood Wilkinson.

Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Park in Lacrosse.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
