Born May 16, 1908, John Keen I saw the face of Jesus on Aug. 13, 2008. He was one of 12 children of Ed and Della Keen, raised in Houston County. He was joined by four stepsisters in 1918, and one half-sister in 1922. He moved to Dallas in 1927, retired in 1973, after 45 years with Cannon Ball and National Linen Service, serving as manager in Lubbock and Wichita Falls. He was an avid bowler, active in various Methodist churches, longtime Mason, and Lions Club member. He was preceded in death in 1960 by his first wife of 32 years, Gladys Bridges Keen. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ina of Greenacres, Fla.; son, Jerry Keen (Ruth) of DeSoto; daughter, Betty Lawson of Huntsville, Ala.; stepson, Alan (Mary) Wilson of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Nora Wills, and Opal Thompson of Dallas; brother, Darrell Keen of Elkhart; half-sister, Eddie Garrison of Yellville, Ark.; and many loving grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand children. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel, 811 S. Cockrell Hill Rd, Duncanville, TX. A graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, officiated by the Rev. Billy Johnson.
