She was the daughter of John McNary and his wife Ann. She married John Blue Jr., in Bourbon County, Kentucky on April 30, 1801. After their marriage they lived in Fleming County until 1821 when they moved to Hopkins County, Kentucky. In December 1823 they were found in Green County, Ohio. In the fall of 1830 they were found in Sangamon County, Illinois in what is now Clear Lake Township.

Elizabeth and John had the following children:

1. John Blue, married 1st Hannah Berry; 2nd Nancy Jane Ashby; 3rd Lucretia Williams
2. James Blue
3. Jane Blue
4. Martha Blue, who married her 1st cousin Robert Blue
5. Samuel Blue, who married Isabel Webb
6. David Huston "Hus" Blue, who married Fannie Web
7. Eliza Ann Blue, who married Adolphus Jones
8. William Marshall Blue, who married Adaline Cline
9. Harrison A. Blue, who married Margaret Alexander
10. Caroline Blue, who married Stephen Cantrall
11. Amos Blue
