Mrs W S Hershberger Laid to Rest Saturday Many Mourners AttendMiss Bertha Battershell was born near Rantoul, Ill., June 13, 1883. She grew to womanhood at Henning, Ill., where she was a well known and of a lovable character. She united with the church of Christ at an early age, and was organist of the church for an extended period. She was married at Henning, Ill., to W S Hershberger, December 30,1903. Mr and Mrs Hershberger left immediately for Iowa and resided there for eleven years when they moved to Minnesota; having resided in Minnesota for six years.Four girls, Cleo, Lois, Mabelle and Evelyn and the little baby boy born July 6, 1921, survive the mother.Mr and Mrs Hershberger since residing in Minnesota have won many friends in Olivia and throughout the vicinity where they are known. There is a wide spread feeling of regret over the decease of this estimable lady and a deep sympathy for Mr Hershberger and family. A mother and eight brothers and two sisters survive Mrs. Hershberger.The funeral services were held Saturday at eleven o'clock at the residence in town. Rev. W S Emery was the officiating clergyman, and the music was rendered by Mrs Albert Paulson, soloist.Those attending the funeral from a distance, Mrs. Battershell, Pocahontas, Ia, mother of Mrs. Hershberger, WM, and J A Battershell, Henning, Ill., Chas. and Fred Battershell, Pocahontas, Ia., E H Battershell, Rossville, Ill., E A Battershell, Spencer, Ia., brothers of Mrs Hershberger, Mrs Anna Baril, Potomac, Ill., and Mrs Harry Lewis and family, Champaign, Ill., sister; Mr W E Hershberger, Atkinson, Neb., father of W S Hershberger, Mrs Borton, Deland, Ill, aunt of W S Hershberger, Mrs Gilsthrope, Lincoln, Ill., aunt of W S Hershberger, Loyd Battershell of St Paul, nephew of Mrs Hershberger. The other brothers of Mrs Hershberger, Sam and Meade, reside in the immediate vicinity.
