James Campbell, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at 8 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Angel River Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

James was born April 17, 1917 in Hugo, Colorado, to Arvis and Lella (Lankford) Campbell. He was a 1935 Lynnville High School graduate and a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran. James retired in 1982 from Whirlpool as a product tester. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. James was a member of VFW.

He is survived by daughters, Nancy Andrews of Indianapolis and Patty Lester of Terre Haute, Indiana; a son, Rich Campbell of Franklin, Indiana; brother, Victor Campbell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Dan Lester, Carrie (Eric) Reiberg, Susan (Alex) Carey, J.B. Andrews, Nicholas (Maya) Campbell, Alexis Campbell and Grace Campbell; and six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kendall Carey, Lucas Reiberg, TaLiyah Seaton, Amaliyah Campbell and Ana Campbell.

James was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holli Campbell, in 2003, wife, Martha H. (Ringham) Campbell, in 2004 and a sister, Elizabeth Stanton, in 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Reverend Joe Easley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, Indiana, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will perform military honors.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. service time, Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel.
