James "Jim" Knudson, Sr., 78, of Moline, died August 11, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial service was at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Inurnment was at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

Jim was born March 16, 1930 in Ringstead, IA to Silas Perry and Zella Elnora (Boster) Knudson. He married Donna Engleman on August 23, 1952 in Mason City, IA.

Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 spending 16 months in Germany. When he left the Army he worked at Ametek, East Moline until the company closed. He then went on to work at Swan Engineering, Bettendorf until retiring in 1994. He worked part time at Swans for several more years. He received Master Machinist certificate September 22, 1979. Jim's hobbies included fishing, camping, and gardening. He liked sports of all kinds especially baseball, basketball and football. He was a hard worker and a good provider.
