Vivian L. Sweerin, 71, of Waterloo, died Sunday, August 3, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.
She was born November 8, 1936 in Mercer County, Missouri, daughter of Delbert O. and Lois C. McLain Wilson. She married Melvin "Boots" Sweerin on July 3, 1954 in Leon.
Mrs. Sweerin was church secretary for a number of years at Faith Assembly of God, Elk Run Heights.
Survived by her husband; two sons, Melvin Jr. (Melissa) and Allen (Connie), both of Waterloo; five grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton (Esther) Wilson of Waterloo, and Melvin "Bud" Wilson of Evansdale; and three sisters, Helen Francis and Evelyn (Johny) Cain, both of Bethany, Missouri, and Shirley (Harold "Curly") Mattson of Winsted, Minnesota.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Norman, and Larry Wilson; and four sisters, Katherine Sparks, Vera Thompson, Carol Francis, and Charlotte Wilson.
Services 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Assembly of God, Elk Run Heights, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and an hour before services Thursday at the church.
