Anna Bailey was born Quintella M. Harris. No one could remember her name so they nicknamed her "Anna". Her parents were James S. Harris and Elizabeth "Bettie" Warren Harris.

Anna was one of seven children. She married James Bailey on 8/27/1886 in Floyd County, Indiana, under the name Anna M. Harris. They had six children...Florence, Thomas, Ida, Robert, Viola, and Hattie A. Bailey.

Anna is buried in the Bailey family cemetery which is a very small family plot. It is now on private property. Anna originally deeded land for this cemetery. It is maintained by various members of the Bailey family.
