Gean Deason Burnett, 76, son of Craven and Ella Deason Burnett, was born April 4, 1922, in California. He died May 4, 1998, at Houston.

He married Faye McElfresh May 29, 1953. They had two children.

Mr. Burnett came to Missouri when he was 5 and lived on the same farm for 71 years. He was a carpenter in Rolla for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth. Surviving are his wife, of the home; his children, Norman of Euless, Texas, and Susan Hendricks of Gilbert, Ariz.; three stepsons, Wayne McElfresh of Troy, MO., Harold McElfresh of Bowling Green, KY, and Cecil McElfresh of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four sisters, Ada Moore, Maxine Cavaness, Catherine Ogle and Frankie Hadley; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were May 7 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with Elder Noel Mooney and the Rev. Roy Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.
