Henry was born on January 20, 1917, to Jacob and Frances (Wieling) Brausen in Pierz. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Schnurrer on June 19, 1939 in Pierz. They farmed for 45 years,in the Pierz area and moved to Pierz in September of 1989. Henry worked for Pierz Lumber and Supply. He loved cards, fishing, hunting, and ricing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor (September 5, 1999), parents Jacob and Frances, brothers Ted Brausen, Pete Brausen, Reiny Brausen; sister Alma Weiss; and 2 grandchildren.
Casket Bearers were Daryl Bauer, Kevin Tschida, Josh Stangl, Brent Herman, Craig Kapsner, Travis Yasgar, Adam Luberts, and Cavlin Brausen.
Honorary casketbearers were the rest of the grandchildren.
