Rolla Francis Mccue, son of Thomas Francis McCue and Mary Anderson McCue was born Sept. 19, 1901 in Rooks County, Kansas and passed away at his home near Glade on Apr. 2, 1981 at the age of 80 years, six months and 14 days.

On May 10, 1922 he was united in marriage to Bertha F. Elliott and to this union four children were born. Rolla and Bertha farmed all their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter (Bernetta), a son (Lyle), his wife (Bertha), and a brother (Albert).

He is survived by his two daughters Mrs. Gweneth Austin and her husband, Kenneth (from) Orcutt, California and Mrs. Wauneta Jensma and husband Ted, (from) Santa Maria, California; two brothers, Albert and Leo McCue both of Stockton; and two sisters Mrs. Veda (Elliott) Townley, Glade and Mrs Mary (McCue) Strunk, Fresno, California; three grandchildren: Dale Austin and Janice and Darl Jensma and three great-grandchildren: Cynthia and Heather Austin and Melanie Lee Jensma.

Rolla was a member of the United Methodist Church in Glade. He was a good friend and neighbor and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, April 7, at 2 pm in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lucille Wehmeyr officiating. Janet Elliott Johnson sang special music accompanied by Helen Witmer. Casket bearers were John Shaw, Robert Quanz, Leonard Zink, Don Shields, Merle Elliott and Dale Hancehtt. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
