WAVERLY, Jun 28--Frank P. Schnitzen returned last night from Atlantic, Iowa, where Friday he attended the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Clara Schnitzen. Requiem High Mass was celebrated at SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic church and burial was in Atlantic. She died at Los Angeles, Calif, June 19.
Mrs. Schnitzen was born in Trier, Germany, in 1852 and 62 years ago married Joseph Schnitzen and came to America. She was noted in Western Iowa as a singer and for 52 years directed the choir of SS Peter and Paul's church in Atlantic.
Her survirors are: three daughters, Mrs. Robert Bernard and Mrs. Charles Kelly of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Carl Rowe of Atlantic; four sons, Carl J. Schnitzen of Denver, Col. Peter F. Schnitzen of York, Neb. William P. Schnitzen of Des Moins, Iowa and Frank P. Schnitzen of Waverly; and a brother Ernest Miller of Casey, Iowa.
