Mary Barnard Of Las Vegas Dies
Mrs. Mary Barnard, 89, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of
Atlantic, died Oct. 6 at her home.
The daughter of Joseph and Clara Miller Schnitzen, she was
born June 13, 1891, in Cass County attended Atlantic schools. She was graduated
from the A tlantic Hospital Nurses Training School and
lived in Cass County until joining the Army Nurse Corps during World W a r I.
She was married to Dr. Barney Barnard,who died in 1958. She was a
member of the SS Peter & Pau l Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Billy Robinson of Highland, C alif.;
several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; four
brothers, Frank, Peter, W illiam and Carl J.; three sisters, M rs.
Estella Wallace, Mrs. Elizabeth Rowe and Anna Marie Schnitzen;
and a nephew, Daryle Duane Rowe.
F uneral Mass will be held at 11 a.m . Wednesday at the
SS Peter & P aul Catholic Church,with the Rev. Edward Kelly and
Monsignor Frank Zuch of Des Moines officiating. Interment
will be in the A tlantic Cemetery.
A rosary w ill be said at 7:30pm Tuesday a t the Roland Funeral Home.
