Mr. Alford was a native of Greene County and had moved to Neshoba County early in life. He was a member of McLain Chapel Church.
His first wife Pearl preceded him in death. He will be buried by her. He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Maxine Eakes Alford; daughter, Mrs. Sandra McKinney of Pearl; sons, James Alford and George Alford, both of Pearl, and Henry Alford of Morton; stepdaughters, Mrs. Diane Crawford and Mrs. Doris Eakes, both of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Sheila Eakes of Meridian; stepsons, Harold Eakes and Ivea Eakes, both of Philadelphia, and Randolph Eakes and Charles Eakes, both of Meridian; sisters, Mrs. Martha Beach and Mrs. Allie Vess, both of Leakesville, Mrs. Myrtle Hopkins and Mrs. Mabis Crocker, both of Mobile, Ala., and Mrs. Pearline McDonald of La Pine, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
