Rites Will Be
Held Today
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today (Friday) for Charles Spurgeon Aiken. Mr. Aiken died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at his home. Conducting the service in the First Baptist Church will be the Rev. H. D. Freeman, pastor. Interment will be in the Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Richards-Beck Funeral home. Mr. Aiken was born October 20, 1890 at Cedar Grove, Ga. He was the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Sam Aiken. On Sept. 1, 1913 he was married to Miss Cordie Ashlock in Denton. He was a member of the Baptist Church. His home was at 312 Hall Street. Survivors are his wife; three sons, J. C. Aiken, Kermit, Charles J. Aiken, Midland and Hubert Aiken, Waco; five daughters, Mrs. John F. Godwin, Mrs. Cecil H. Craft, Mrs. J. M. Kerley, and Mrs. Joe L. Ranne, all of Midland, and Mrs. L. L. Dade of Artesia, N. M.; three brothers, Judson Aiken of Whitesboro, Cecil E. Aiken of Wellington, Kan., and Sam Aiken of grand Junction, Colo.; also 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
