She was born to David Canfield and Elizabeth Storey Depue, She was the youngest of 10 children. She md Benjamin F Knell the 24 Nov 1886 in the St George Temple they lived in Pinto until they moved to Cedar City in 1896. They purchased the Cedar City Drug Company and ran it for 20 years. Benjamin died 10 Oct 1928.At the time of his death they ran a stage coach line from Cedar City to Lund.
For 27 years she was the Parowan Stake Young Womens President.
