Mary Gertrue (Gertie) Brown Patterson, 78, widow of H.H. Patterson, died July 29, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after an extended illness with cancer.

A native of Salem, SC, daughter of the late Burley and Elsie Mae Talley Brown, she was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Beverly Patterson of Taylors and Jimmy and Brenda Patterson of Greenville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Dean Karr of Taylors, June Gilreath of Greenville, Tonia and Gary Bramlett of Taylors, and Jane and Doug Thomas of Taylors; two brothers, Robert Brown of Rome, GA and Davis Brown of Walhalla; a sister, Fae Miller of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by one brother, Curtis Brown.
