Robert Jackson Brown, age 94, of Rome, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at a local nursing facility after several months of declining health.

Mr. Brown was born in Salem, South Carolina on December 19, 1927, son of the late Burly and Elsie Talley Brown. He was also preceded in death by his oldest son, Larry R. Brown, by one sister, and by one brother. Mr. Brown graduated from Salem High School in 1945 and graduated from Berry College in 1949. He retired from Inland Paper in 1992 after almost forty years of service with Georgia Kraft and Inland Paper. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and liked to garden. Mr. Brown was a member of Floyd Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Corbin Brown, to whom he was married on June 4, 1950; two sons, Glenn Brown and his fiancé, Sue, Cedar Bluff, AL, and Joe Brown (Brenda), Savannah; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Marks Brown, Summerville; two grandsons, Douglas (Maxx) Brown and Lance (Erin) Mauldin-Brown; four great grandchildren, Stephen, Sophia and Alex Brown, and Audrey Mauldin-Brown; a brother, Davis (Lois) Brown; a sister, Fae Brown Miller; nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Mr. Brown's wishes, no services will be held.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, has charge of the arrangements.
