Mrs. Shumaker was about 68 years old and is survived by her husband, with whom she moved to Asotin county, to their farm above Anatone in the winter of 1878. About two years ago they moved to Clarkston, making their home at Second and Elm streets.
Mrs. Shumaker is also survived by her son, L. Shumaker, who lives on the Shumaker farm, and two daughters, Mrs. Dick Hospkins of Agatha and Mrs. Media Baughman of the Williamette Valley in Oregon.
Mr. Shumaker was at his wife's bedside when she passed away.
Mrs. Shumaker had been ill for a year or more and was operated on in Spokane a week ago for gallstones, but never recovered from the operation.
