Ira W. (Pete) Hall, 86, Clarkson
Ira W. (Pete) Hall of Clarkston went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec 2, 2003. He was 86.
He ws born Feb. 25, 1917, to William W. and Lillie M. Fix Hall on Fix Ridge near Juliaetta. He moved with the family to Moscow when he was 4 years old. He remembered the milk cow following along behind the wagon. He attended the Collins School northwest of Moscow. Upon finishing school, he was employed on the family farm.
Ira married Maud French July 3, 1936, at Moscow. He drove school bus for the Pullman School District and worked odd jobs between bus hours.He worked during the winter at the Washington State College milk house and Neil Furniture.
In 1946, he and his family moved to Moscow, where he was employed by Mobile Oil. He also worked at Air Depot in Spokane helping build the railroad there.
!n 1949, he leased his mothr's farm and ran it until he had to quit farming because of health reasons.
They moved to Pullman in 1959 and he worked as head custodian at Jefferson Elementary School. He retired in 1979 and they moved to Clarkston.
His Hobbies include yard work, gardening and playing pinochle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Maud; a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick W. and Eileen Hall of Moscow; daughters and son-in-law, Beverly J. Gibbons, Pearl L. and Harvey echols, and Doris J. Forsman, all of Pullman; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell L. Hall, who died at 7 months of age; three brothers, James, Glen and Robert; and five sisters, Neva, Zella, Ethel, Grace and Ester.
Visitation is from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday followed by burial at Vineland Cemetery Cemetery in Clarkston.
