Leburn Brackett
Leburn Franklin Brackett, 74, son of John W. Brackett and Rosetta Morgan Spencer, was born May 31, 1927, at Hartshorn. He died March 13, 2002, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
He married Bonnie Merckling Sept. 7, 1948. They had five children.
Mr. Brackett was a logger for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and country music. He played the banjo and guitar.
He married Lorene Courtney Bay Nov. 15, 1968. She had four children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Myrtle and Ruthine.
Surviving are his wife of the home at Raymondville; his children, Michial Brackett, Jennifer Bryant and Melissa Levingston of Springfield, Louis Brackett of Tuttle, Okla., and Samuel Brackett of Houston; his stepchildren, Leonard Bay of Lebanon, Linda Taylor of Birch Tree, Barbara White of Lebanon and Carol Wilder of Gladstone; one brother, Ed Brackett of Beeville, Texas; one sister, Ruby Crank of Tonganoxie, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grand-children.
Services were March 16 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with the Rev. Max Courtney officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery near Raymondville.
