Mrs. Missie May Price, 71, widow of Dr. A.J. Price, well-known Gulfport dentist, died Sunday night at 11:55 o'clock at her home, 1501 21st Avenue. Mrs. Price was stricken suddenly Thursday morning at her home.
She was born September 17, 1882, in D'Lo, Miss., the daughter of W.R. and Mary Frances Johnson May. She was married to Dr. Price of Gulfport on December 24, 1908, and had resided in Gulfport since that time. Mrs. Price was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Mrs. William G. Hewes, Mrs. Roy I. Bradford, and Dr. A.J. Price, Jr., and three grandchildren, Billy, Charles, and Andy Hewes, all of Gulfport; three sisters, Mrs. W.D. Cook, Meridian, Mrs. W.M. Boggan, D'Lo, and Mrs. L.L. Coleman, Texarkana, Texas; and two brothers, C.L. May, Jackson, and J.R. May, Maryville, Tenn.
The body was removed from Lang's Chapel at 11 o'clock this morning to the home where funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. P.S. Dodge, pastor of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and Dr. J.N. Brown, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
