On April 5, 1991 the world as I knew it changed forever. My mother (Mom) lost her battle with cancer and passed away.
Mom was the core of our family and was always passing out hugs and "that a boys" or "that's my girl!". She made my childhood special and I remember that we always knew when Christmas was approaching becasue she would play "ALVIN and The Chipmunks, beginning the day after Thanksgiving.....giving us a countdown until Chirstmas Day. I rememeber that by the time Christmas did arrive, the excitement in our home had risen to fever-pitch.
Mom made sure that on rainy days when the kids were stuck in the house that we didn't get bored. She would construct "tunnels" made from blankets and quilts draped over furniture and chairs and give us a chance to go "exploring" in make believe land. As my siblings and I grew older she was our biggest fan at school or sporting events. I remember that from the playing field I could always make out her voice cheering above the rest of the crowd. She would never miss an event.
She loved to sing in Church and even to this day when certain songs are being sung during the service, I can hear her voice and feel her presence.
She was a kind hearted soul and would spend hours writing "thinking of you cards or get-well cards" to the many people she befriended in her life time. She had a contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor and I feel so blessed to have been priveledged enough to call her "Mom".

I would like to publicly acknowledge, with heart felt gratitude, my appreciation to Jane Eubanks for sponsoring my mother's memorial. Thanks again Jane.
