Funeral services for Rayburn Ira Bailey, 60, of Muskogee will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Miller officiating. Pallbearers are Steve Luna, Steve Bo Luna, Craig Cole, Mark Luna, Robert Karr and Chuck Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Bailey, John Allen Bennett III, Paul McAlpine and Larry Church. Burial will be in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

Rayburn Ira Bailey was born October 25, 1947 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Chester Bailey and Edna (Halpain) Bailey and died July 16, 2008 in Muskogee. He graduated from Hulbert High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army in the 25th Infantry Division "Wolf Hounds" and received the Bronze Star V for Valor. On November 16, 2007 he married Vicki Wells in Muskogee, OK. He was an iron worker and a life time member of VFW #74 and Post 15 and a member of the Legion Riders, Post 15. He is preceded in death by his father and one son, Ray Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Bailey of Hulbert, OK; wife Vicki Bailey of the home; two step children, Tracy McAlpine and husband Paul, John Allen Bennett and wife Tammy; three grandchildren, John Allen Bennett IV, Karsten Reed, Ireland Nicole Bennett; one brother, Chester Bailey of Hulbert, OK; two sisters, Pearl Cole of Wagoner, OK and Joyce Luna and husband Vern of Wagoner, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.

Military honors will be by American Legion Post #15 and American Legion Riders.
