Egbert Badgley was the son of Anthony, a Revolutionary War veteran, and was a veteran himself of the War of 1812. He served as a Private in the Wood's Regiment, (147th) New York Militia. He married his wife, Elizabeth Ryder in 1818, while still in Albany. By 1820 he was in DeWitt, NY and he died in Collamer, NY, after many years as a farmer on the family farm on Badgley Road. Together, they had five children.
