Eulah L. Van Buren, 92, of Oklahoma City, Okla. formerly of Checotah, died March 28, 2004, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She was born Oct. 17, 1911, in Chase County Kansas, to Crosby and Lillie Caress Merritt.

She was married to Cecil Van Buren for 40 years, he pre-ceded her in death Dec. 31, 2003.

Mrs. Van Buren was an LPN and a member of the Checotah First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Clifford Beardmore of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Dorothy Odle of Cedar Point; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-children. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Everett Beardmore; a son, Glen Beardmore; a brother, Howard; and four sisters, Myrtle, Nettie, 0llie and Ruth.

Funeral services were April 2, 2004, at the Checotah First Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Bill Sherrill. Interment was April 3, 2004, at Homestead Cemetery, Bazaar, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Checotah.
