Rawson dies at 60. Long President Of Tile Firm Albert Cummins Rawson, 60, prominent Des Moines businessman, died of a heart ailment Saturday at Younker Memorial Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Rawson had been in ill health the past five years and was semi-retired. He was president of the Iowa Pipe & Tile Co. for many years.
Mr. Rawson, who lived at 1 Thirty-fifth st., was a life-long Des Moines resident. He was a grandson of the late U.S.Senator A.B.Cummins.
Grinnell Grad. Mr. Rawson attended public schools and the Scholte-Nollen School in Des Moines. Graduated from Grinnell College, he took graduate work in business administration at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his Des Moines business activities, he was a former owner of the What Cheer Clay Products Co. in What Cheer, and served on state and national boards of trade associations.
