Major League Baseball Player. Born Ronald Harris Jackson, he was a first baseman for seven seasons (1954 to 1960) with the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox. At a stature of 6'7", he played both basketball and baseball during his collegiate years at Western Michigan University. He enjoyed his most successful season in 1958, when he appeared in 61 games with 34 hits and 7 home runs. He briefly played for the 1959 White Sox team that won the American League pennant. In 196 career games, Jackson had 116 hits with a lifetime .245 batting average.
