Born January 16, 1942, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter W. and Helen Grace (Park) Kesner.
Duke was a retired power plant construction worker and a carpenter. He was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm, W.Va., and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Joyce J. (Didawick) Kesner; two daughters, Karla Harman and Crystal Moore; one special son-in-law, Michael Moore; four loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Harman, Jr., Joyce "Pooh" Timbrook, Ashley Harman and Christopher Moore; and one loving great-grandson, Jordan Cook.
Also surviving are three brothers, Norman R. Kesner and Gary "Jim" Lee Kesner, both of Keyser, W.Va., and Roger Lee Kesner of Falls Church Va., three sisters, Gail Didawick and Connie Day, both of Keyser, W.Va., and Judy McDonald of Moorefield, W.Va., great friends and loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Shirley Didawick and Bill Didawick of Mt. Storm, W.Va., friend a neighbor, Albert Smith; and one pet Cindy, not only a dog, but a man's best friend.
Friends will be received at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mt. Storm, on Thursday, May 17, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Friday, May 18, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend John Walker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in Bismark Cemetery, Mt. Storm, W.Va.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, W.Va.
