Daughter of Nathan and Sarah Elizabeth McMechan Winnett. She was called Ettie D. or Etta D. She married William S. Reed November 11, 1886. He died March 17, 1889. Etta D. and William Reed had 2 children .. Rossy and Florence. Rossy died as an infant William Reed and Rossy are buried at Cutright Cemetery in Greenup, Illinois. Etta D. married Thomas Randall Grissom October 20, 1891. Thomas and Etta D. had 6 children: Marshall Franklin (Mort), Jesse Arlo, Ora Elizabeth, Thomas Ivan (Bud) and Noble Neal. Her husband, Thomas Randall, preceded her in death by two weeks and is buried beside her.

ETTA GRISSOM DIED SUNDAY

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Etta D. Grissom, who passed away at the home of her son, Noble Grissom, in Casey, about 12:30 Sunday, just two weeks from the day her husband, Thomas Grissom, died.
Final Rites were held from the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey at 1:00 with Rev. F. Ernest Bray officiating and interment in the Casey Cemetery.
Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Nunamaker of Billingham, Washington and Mrs. Ora Shull of Rose Hill. Three sons, Marshall Grissom of Wood, Wisconsin, Jesse Grissom of Westfield and Noble Grissom of Casey, twenty two grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren, and other realtives and a host of friends.


NOTE: Etta D.'s son, Noble Grissom, is my father.
